ABOUT

Kelly Appleton is a British guitarist with a career spanning over a decade. She has worked with a variety of major label recording artists on worldwide tours, television, radio and studio sessions, played in television house bands and performed in theatre shows in both the U.K and U.S.

​

Alongside her touring schedule,  she has also worked on numerous television shows for both full series runs and one-off appearances. She was part of the house band for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s television series “ITV Superstars” and played for several artists during the live shows of the U.K “X-Factor”, “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and “Grease is the Word”. She also appeared with III Divo on Michael Parkinson’s chat show “Parkinson” and in a music video for EMI artist Corrine Bailey Rae.

As well as playing guitar Kelly also works with Ableton, editing and arranging tracks for live play back. Most recently working on a Cirque Du Soleil resident show in Las Vegas, with an onstage role as both the guitarist and “DJ” (operating Ableton to cue/trigger playback tracks during the performance) as well as playing bass.

​

Prior to working with Cirque Du Soleil Kelly was with Sony recording artist Beth Ditto (Gossip) on a two-year campaign for her debut solo album “Fake Sugar”. Undertaking headline tours of the U.S and Europe, along with festival appearances in North America, South America, Europe and Africa. Performing on various television and radio shows including “Later with Jools Holland”, "The Late Late Show with James Corden”, “Late Night with Seth Myers”, "The Graham Norton Show”, “KCRW”, and “BBC Radio”. This campaign also included support tours with Sam Smith on his U.S arena headline tour “The Thrill of it All” and Florence and The Machine on her “High as Hope” Tour.

Kelly is passionate about the creative and technical process involved in making music. Alongside her touring work she is building a catalogue of original songs and continues to develop her skills with Logic and Ableton for both live, recording and music production purposes. 

​

Kelly divides her time and work commitments between her homes in Los Angeles (U.S) and Brighton (U.K).
