Kelly Appleton is a British guitarist with a career spanning over 12 years. She has worked with a variety of major label recording artist on worldwide tours, television, radio and studio sessions.
Kelly studied guitar at The Academy of Contemporary Music in the U.K and The Musicians Institute in America where she focused on developing her knowledge of Funk, R n’ B and Blues guitar styles.
Her first tour came straight out of music college. She joined Tricky as his guitarist, playing to large audiences at music festivals across Europe including; Glastonbury (U.K), Les Eurockeenes (France), T In The Park (U.K) and The Exit Festival (Serbia).
Alongside her touring schedules, Kelly has also played on various television programmes throughout her career. Notably, she was the guitarist for the series of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s live broadcast show “ITV Superstars”.
For the past two years Kelly has been working with Sony recording artist Beth Ditto (Gossip) on the campaign for her debut solo album Fake Sugar, undertaking headline tours of the US and Europe, along with festival appearances in North America, South America, Europe and Africa.
Performing on various television and radio shows including Later with Jools Holland, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Graham Norton Show, KCRW and BBC Radio.
This campaign also included supporting Sam Smith on his US Arena Headline Tour ‘The Thrill of it All’ and Florence And The Machine’s on her ‘High As Hope’ US Tour.
Kelly is passionate about the creative and technical process involved in making music. Alongside her touring work she is building a catalogue of original songs and continues to develop her skills with Logic and Ableton for both live, recording and music production purposes.
Kelly divides her time and work commitments between her homes in Los Angeles (U.S) and Brighton (U.K).
